Life is a Supermarket.....u pick up what u like?...think again!

In life, we often do everything as we are told to do right from the beginning of our young age. We respect elders, obey our parents, do errands, basically listen & act everything as it has been told to us.

We follow all the rules of society as we are a part of it & tend to behave & implement all of the societal rules imposed & if we don't or failing in doing so, there is widespread resentment & your either punished or counselled into why such an act is considered wrong or immoral in nature & a subsequent number of sessions are held in order to correct our so called immorality.

We are born into a family of maybe Catholic, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish belief. We are baptised or christened at the Catholic church as a way of cleansing our sins of Adam & Eve. In Hinduism we have Naamkaran. Muslims or Islam followers have Tahnik, Aqiqah & Khaitan. Jewish people have Brit Milah for males & Brit Brat for females.
Confirmation as we do in Catholicism is applied to almost all the religions mentioned above & ranges between 12 years in Judaism, 14-15 years in Catholicism, 10 years in Islam or Muslims.

At 18 years old, we feel the need to obtain a driving license atleast in India & 16 years maybe in others like the European Union.

The same age of 18 years also applies when we need to choose or vote for a representative for an election.

In India, the legal drinking age is 21 years for beer while 25 years for distilled spirits which as a matter of fact is the highest in the world & the other countries which have a much lower age of 16 years.

The point that I am about to make may not be accepted by many but it does make the most sense considering the way we live each day of our lives.

We follow all of society's rules be it, no drinking & driving, no smoking, no kissing, etcetera. Society, the Government, the Country or our very Nation imposes rules, bye-laws that are expected to be followed at a certain age according to the rulebook.

Now here is the tough part, Why does religion have to be enforced upon us when we are just born & have no clue whatsoever whether the right or wrong decision has been made?
It is like we have been sucked into something without having the very knowledge or a clear understanding as to what exactly is happening. If there are major decisions that the society implements for us to follow, why isn't religion one of those criterion's that need to be addressed first. It is because of this very reason we have people who turn religious extremists, the reason being, the first book or their first lesson of life is learnt from that of a book that was written a thousand years ago which may obviously refer to or was written in order to address the people of that time. Religious texts often use coercion & those who do not follow as said by the holy book are often criticised or for worse executed by their very own so called brethren.

If there is a decision that needs to be taken or made is left upto society to decide, Religion should too be one of them. We find ourselves today in the worst tragic stories of all time, war in every town, all because of religion & this happens because our holy books protest against those who do not believe in the religion that we follow are to perish.

If there is a God above all of us, I am sure he wouldn't like anything of what is going on on his created planet. Man has taken the literal meaning of what God or Human Beings have interpreted from God's words & that cannot be applied in today's society as every religion considers itself superior than the other & non-believers are threatened with dire consequences.

Again, coming back to the main point, we follow all what is done by the others as a whole but we fail to follow what we really want to do all because there is something called as limits or restrictions when broken have repercussions.

I truly feel that we as humans choose what we like, what we can connect to, what benefits us in someway, what satisfies our needs & what provides value to our lives.

If I like a sports car provided I have the money I'd have it all because it appealed to me with its specifications, speed, design & maybe the very term luxury that is going to add a ton to my pride or ego. Now this may apply to almost any of us irrespective of the car, it could be a product, a daily necessity, an entertainment media, it all depends but at the end of the deal, it serves the need that we desire & provided we are in a lawful age to make use of it.

If we apply such basic facts of economics like needs & wants along with the ability to purchase can be fulfilled or satisfied as per the demand, why can't we do the same for religion, we are in it just because we were told we were in it or rather born with it. If our life can be satisfied by the choices we make by just choosing wisely when it comes to consumer products, why not the biggest decision of our lives being religion needs to be born with us? aren't we mature beings who apply facts to everyday life then why not apply it right where the center of our behaviour erupts & character is moulded. Religions are at present causing much trouble than the health hazards & natural calamities as a whole because people are imposed & so bound to what they believe that they often fail to have an open mind & block or shut their minds off the moment they realise there is something against or does not consist of the holy book sayings.

It is because of such unknown choices that we end up hating the persons who follow other faiths all because we have not studied all of them but just studied one & made the ultimate choice of our life till death.

I honestly feel that religion needs to be chosen by an individual at at age above 15 or even 18 years if required after knowing which religion is the best for himself, suits his life & understands the true meaning of not only his religion but faith as a whole.

We do our research when it comes to choosing the right product off the supermarket shelf, looking at factors like price, attractiveness/packaging, nutritional value, quantity & so on. If we are born to be so choosy in almost every day of our lives, we might as well be even more choosier on the one faith that can change the way we live & act for not only our well being but society as a whole.

P.S. - For those who doubt me being an atheist or agnostic, I am NOT!!

Media Massacre - (News-ance)

The PM of India is undergoing a bypass heart surgery. & well how did i find out? well of course through the media, but now of late I've found out that it takes 8 hours for a second time bypass surgery. The doctors and their credits fly across various newspapers. The cost of the surgery, the people who will be assisting in the operation, who will be supplying the PM with food after the surgery, & the biggest question yet, what exactly is a bypass surgery, how does it take place, what are the medical conditions that need a bypass surgery??

All of these questions have been headlines for the past few days after the official announcement of the PM being admitted to the AIIMS for a surgery. He underwent this surgery for the first time in the 1990's & that time there was no one to cover it or even bother to place it below as news streak. But, now its all being flagged across with every single channel having their own headline and own catch phrase attached to this simple & humble PM of ours.

I understand he is brilliant, smart, polite, & yea boring in his speeches or lectures but the very thought of news is just ruined.

News was meant to inform people about what is happening but as of now its all just a competition of ratings, awards, domination & profit. At times I feel pathetic & shocked to even see Hindi News Channels just screwing around & messing with peoples thoughts. They have stupid, utterly stupid shows dedicated to just one you tube video shown for more than 30 mins although the video is barely 2 mins long. They extend it like no other, finding unsound conclusions and stretching it to a maximum of 25-30 mins just to get more viewers and make them believe that we are the best you can ever get.

Indian news & journalism seriously needs some overhauling very urgently. Well I do respect the rights of freedom of press & expression but that does not mean you keep bullshittin people especially when there are more serious things to cover and better reporting to be done.

Instead of educating the 70% of rural India, these guys(news-ance channels)just screw up big time by reporting robberies, thefts, & if there is something better which is according to them PM under the knife, well its a jackpot, they will continue pouring worthless stories & increasing a small 2 mins information into a big 48 hour story that is never ending.

Media was the best source of information & still is but in my opinion, India needs reporting on highly knowledgeable & rich information rather trivial matters which get covered in desi newspapers in local towns in and around India. Spread news that we can use not what we can just watch & say "oh, its not gonna happen to me!".

I must frankly confess that i once literally enjoyed watching NDTV24X7 but now its lost all the shine as it happens to portray itself for a more glamourous audience with refined taste and continues reporting on mindless matters all in the name of we want to be number one, we will & continue to be number one. In this matter i say, journalism is gone for a toss. Money, greed, profit, revenue, ratings, competition always control but if you can choose to avoid them and do your job in the best way possible, you as an individual, as a team, an a news organisation have won in the truest sense.

There is no pleasure in cooking up stories which can be babbled by a toddler but greater satisfaction in working on everyone of them and experiencing each of them.

These are a few of the English Dailies & Magazines I respect and often read, Indian Express & The Financial Express, The Times of India especially The Economic Times, & Tehelka.

Indian media has lots of potential and I guess we all know that with the former CM & his Deputy being charged with poor response in relation with the Mumbai Attacks, the Jessica Lall case, & many more can fill this posts. But, we need to broaden our view and continue uncovering the truth which may or may not be oblivious to the GOI but this is the true sense of Journalism as a whole.

The best way to put it would be News Channels need filters that segregate the shitty news from the clean source without interrupting the flow of the pipeline.

India has come a long way since 1947, achieved 60+ years of Indepedence & still slogs each day to tell the truth.

I pray this improves provided we demand for the truth and nothing but the truth without unwanted bullshit !!

The Circle Of Terror

Jaipur, Gujarat, Delhi BOMBED next maybe Mumbai, the reason for putting a comma after Mumbai is that terror has no full stop, it continues to live on & it will till we learn to forgive & forget. I'm no preacher but this is the only reason I feel can put a big round full stop to homegrown terrorism.

Indian politics are at its peak in terms of having the country divided. As long as the violence between communities stops, we will continue seeing India being scarred & ripped apart. The one main cause for homegrown terrorism is the involvement of politics in the normal functioning life of every Indian.

I'm Hindu & if there is any other religion, is it my duty as a follower to go & desecrate & destroy the others religious place or for worse go & take their life. I demand a religious justification that allows you as a follower to go & kill someone that you don't even know about. India is facing its worst trouble which if not curbed now can lead to disastrous repercussions in the not so certain future.

India was controlled by the Muslim Rulers for more than a thousand years, no one was forcefully converted, everyone had a right to choose their faith & still after the whole of India being ruled by the Muslims, the majority of the people under their territories remained Hindu & were at peace. It is only when the British came that we Indians as gullible as we are fell for their 'Divide & Rule Policy' which worked wonders in the favour of the British. I wish I could just blame the Britishers & put an end to this gory mess of terrorism but no! the British did sow the seed & the Indian Political Leaders were the gardeners to this plant of hate sorry tree of hate as its grown so far.

India is a land of religions, rich heritage & culture as we say but is this the reason why we are so biased against the others who are different from us, is this what separates us from the others, is this what we should continue being for the benefit of this highly skilled & potentially rich country, now that is the question we need to ask ourselves.

Getting back to homegrown terrorism, once again you reap what you sow, if you slap me I too will slap you or for worse punch you in the guts. Nobody in today's world is Jesus Christ who would ask the person to slap him once again on the left cheek. Everybody wants vendetta, no one is willing to kill their emotions but are definitely willing at any cost to kill someone & make someone else feel the same all just in the name of God which I say is a shame, as no religion on this earth permits the killing of innocents, all that you do is shameful on your part & on that of your religion.

The only thing that comes to my mind is how long can this continue, today India is in its initial stages of religious disharmony if this gets blown out of proportion, we will soon be seeing the ugly face of terror like we do almost everyday in our newspapers & television sets about Iraq, Israel & the others.

The GOI must take effective & appropriate steps in order to end such ridiculous religious wars before we hang our heads in shame around the world.

The only solution as I see it is to educate the society about religious tolerance, prosecute those who spread the thoughts of hatred & lastly be fair & just in your political decisions keeping in mind the secularity of a nation like India.

If we are proud of our country & wave the tricolour on every Independence or Republic Day & accept ourselves as proud Indians how hard is it to live together in peace?

Till then the circle of terror will be the same............a O!

Caught In Between A Cat & Dog Fight

Well this very much may seem absurd but the current cats & dogs in the world according to me are just Russia & America(USA).

If we just take a look back at history or any place or country on this earth, there is nothing as powerful & dominating as the superpowers as they are still known. They had allied with major nations especially during the World Wars 1 & 2. They still continue to exert their power & pressurise governments into obeying their orders or prepare to face a battle ahead of no time.

Our world revolves around them, their policies, their people, their government, their companies, & their revenues soar high. While the rest of the world can lie pretty much in a stagnant position and under their feet being crushed whenever we plan to raise our heads.

The Afghanistan Issue

Land occupied by the then Soviet Union & which kicked of the mujahiden movement or rather Holy Warriors. America found its itch in Asia & backed the Taliban with ammunitions especially Stinger missiles which costs approximately 15 lacs INR a piece. just to get rid of the Soviets as they already had a cold war going. Well they did get liberated from the Soviets, all good for the Americans to visit once more in 2003 to hunt the shadowed Bin Laden.

The Korean Issue

As of now, when we speak of Korea, we actually refer to Seoul or rather South Korea. Korea was once a big nation that was once dominated by the communists backed by China, Russia & the other part a small majority in the south by America & its allies for liberalisation. The North Koreans or Communists were sure to capture the whole country & make it under one rule, when once again America found its tongue tied with communism & its effects of world domination, launched a full scale war against the communists & well they won but once again the country remains divided with one reaping the benefits of globalisation while the other not knowing when will be their next meal.

The Vietnam Issue

Once again, Communists v/s the Liberalists or Viet Cong, North Vietnam & South Vietnam as it was earlier known during the war, the communists were at a break even point when the Americans started pumping even more aid into fighting off the communists backed with Russian weapons. Sadly, it was too late, the communists finally defeated the American forces & the other rebels & took over the entire nation now known as Vietnam.

The India & Pakistan Issue

India was backed by Russia during the war between the two divided south Asian countries, & of course Pakistan was getting aid in dollars for the war against India along with subsidized weapons from the Americans. Sadly, the Kashmir issue still remains unsolved & the longest after the middle east crisis.

The Iraq & Georgia Issue

We all know about the Iraq issue being the most highly publicised war ever. Charges of weapons of mass destruction were laid & the country was invaded for its reserves at the end.
Georgia, a country bordering Russia where tensions grew among the separatists groups invited Russia into a war which ended quickly not without still occupying two Georgian territories.

There are more than a dozen wars related to these superpowers all for greed and land expansion. They would do anything to increase, broaden & widen their authority & governance over any territory & if it is going to reap a fortune from snatching away its resources is all the more good.

In their fight, many countries loose their very existence & heritage, one is poor, the other is rich, one cannot feed his entire family & the other can have a party every weekend.

This is what the world has come to with all of us being disillusioned & clouded by the very supporters of freedom as they say which let us kill one of our own.

We fail to realize the very essence of our livelihood & just follow as we are told or act impulsively & this is the reason for discomfort, sadness, tears & death that still pile up until today forgetting the fact that we live in the 21st century of lightning speed communication & digital coverage but Peace is not well known by many of us.

Eye for an eye is not the solution but it very much pleases & satisfies our selfish objectives.....

Its All Just Business

After everything that I've seen, heard, read about & experienced, I'd like to make my point over here.
Haven't you ever asked why did America invade Iraq? (must've) But many of you'll may share the same old rhetoric feeling that it must've been to save the people of Iraq & free them from a tyrant. But what lies below, even we don't know or might haven't even heard of, all I have to say that it was Iraq's rich natural resources especially mineral oil that made a developed yet greedy country like the U.S. to make that move. If you ever give a thought about oil or gas as we call it, just think about those things or utilities that would be absolutely useless without it, take transport, electricity - if just these two things had gone missing I'd say we'd all be in a terrible state. & U.S. the greatest of all the developed countries are also the smartest, wickedest & cruel of them all, I feel its just insane to have war with a country that has nothing to do with the terrorist attacks in your country & blatantly lie over again & again only to make the world know that what they are doing is for a noble cause. If they ever wanted to help why couldn't they do the same for every country take for e.g. China that executes more than ten thousand people a year or Saudi Arabia that executes more than five thousand a year or may be Iran with over a thousand being executed, but all that matters to the U.S. is the money that they can be generated from these countries through all their resources & people but at the same time making sure its all under the carpet & once again a mask is worn which is invisible.
At the present moment, I really feel depressed about what's going on in Iraq, poor American soldiers are being trapped between the bullets & bombs of Islamic sects aimed against each other. And I still don't understand in spite of the tyrant being taken away from his throne, why haven't they still not packed up, are they still waiting for Iraq to rebuild? is it that there are more terrorist that need their bullets? or is it because they need some time to dry the oil wells? I feel what the Iraqi's did was right when they burnt the oil wells as they heard the fall of their government, they just sensed that maybe its time we send them back empty handed but it never happened as oil doesn't run out so fast when your the no. 4 on the list of largest oil reserves in the world. I guess the U.S. is indeed the best players in the world for dirty games & Iraq was just a small example of how they can make money out of everything.
Another example would be the Football Clubs in Europe & our very own IPL(Indian Premier League). Football Clubs across Europe purchase players for their club for an overwhelming amount that would leave you shocked or the newer version of it the IPL that also follows the same with the highest player being sold for 6 crores.
I might as well pause & ask this question why are these players or men being bought, is it their skill(you'll may agree here), are they experts in the game or are they just hookers being paid without even giving their pleasure? But at the end, they are all earning irrespective of being a prostitute or not, the club or team owners getting the necessary publicity for their companies, creating goodwill & thus maximizing profits, the channels that telecast it as well earn a lump sum by selling segments to companies that are in dire need of consumers attention, & the one that benefits the most of them all, the BCCI(Board Of Control For Cricket In India) they are earning a hell lot of money from as we call a game close to our hearts. Again, its all business as usual, whether we enjoy the game or not, whether the team wins or losses, its just linked to profit although it seems to not be in the picture.

The last yet most influential & rapid moving force among all humans is "Religion", the one word that can connect a thousand people as long as they belong to one faith & can also crush the others who don't follow or criticize their faith. It is only in books & ancient manuscripts that religion evolved to modern day people & that's from where the disaster struck. I personally feel the very birth of religion is cursed as it has bought more pain & suffering to people around the world rather than love & joy. Well of course it has made people more compassionate, helpful & righteous but at the end it just doesn't match. The amount of blood being shattered each day in places like Israel, Africa, India(during riots), etc is just unbelievable but it still does & continues to take place. And who benefits from all this, lets say for now a lot of them. The main people behind this are the politicians, as they are the one's who instigate & motivate people to massacre the others who do not belong to their community, what an insane campaign I'd call to just fill in your vote banks, but as I sit & wonder how timid it is, riots have already broken out & thousands of people are in pain. Politics is a dirty game but if you play it well you can mint as the clock ticks. What happens to those who are lured into fighting for their rights or religion?, they are just brainwashed even better than the politicians do it & made to believe that the fight will continue irrespective of them joining them or not & almost all the time they are exploited as they are poor & joining the organization or rebel unit is what brings food & money that keep the house running.
About how the rebels/gorillas or so called extremist organizations get their funds or survive is just astounding, quite a few of them are actually very good investors & fund their money from all the profit they earn or receive from their businesses, speaking about the arms & ammunition & from where do they procure it, mostly it is stolen from the law enforcers & sometimes purchased from outside the country. Thus the politicians benefit from their vote banks being overfull, the soldiers or rather men who are exploited earn their daily bread along with the organization that feeds on them & then the exporters who earn a good amount by the arms trade.

Once again its all just a nexus to one simple yet invincible word called "Business" & everyone benefits as long as its business!

LUST or is it LOVE? (Complications Caused)

One of the most confusing things that I have always come across through almost every single crush or liking I ever had. Are You In Love with the opposite sex or Your just attracted to? My thoughts to this would be, it always begins with Lust & ends in Love. Many of my friends always find it hard to express themselves when it comes to situations of having felt for someone, & i do understand why does it happen, its just how we feel within that paralyzes our external being & sends this positive & vibrant flow of emotions & feelings right across our head. Its a kind of hysteria, euphoria & an eternal feeling of goodness that ripens every moment we look or think of this person. Speaking about all the relationships or feelings that I had for the girls before in my life, I felt it was all just Lust, I liked all the girls previously as they appealed to me with their pretty faces, beautiful smile, eye-catchy clothing & yea of course a hot bod(i couldn't miss dis). If I'd actually do a survey of what exactly triggered a relationship between couples, I'd end up up with almost 75% lets take 85% agreeing to Lust as the beginning of their relationship.
In this world where everything changes in a second, humans too change along with this continuously changing planet, well change is constant & necessary but the question I want to ask here is do we really want to change the way we think or thought before? do we really need to move from what made us who we are? do we need to change for the sake of others? If change is that important, to hell with it! & rightly said in the words of Kurt Cobain(NIRVANA) "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for I'm not", these words always hit me hard especially when I feel that I am not just being the person who I am supposed to be & trying to change or alter my ways so that someone can either Love me or start liking me & feel secure, comfortable with my company. I truly detest this kind of change that deprives & disillusions you of your very own morals & values that have been in you ever since you can think of. Well, what does this have to do with Love or Lust, heres it, the moment you feel for somebody you try & change the way you are & completely forget what you are. You try to act funny, dress in brand wear only, put on a sky high attitude, ignore your very friends that cared for you even before you thought of having a girl, your out with the hip & cool look & make sure you drag it along everywhere you go only & only just to make her or others around you look at you in high spirits or just to burn their assess off. Well, if this is what you call Love, I pity you, I seriously feel its all a mask you put & change it accordingly to suit your needs. You just forget the very essence of how much have you lost of yourself & yet you continue to exploit yourself just to benefit something thats just not worth of what you are.
And as i said in the beginning its Lust that happens first then Love. Lust is just a hormonal rush of instant attractiveness, & on the other hand Love is that emotional bond that keeps you'll together. Lust in simple words is pure attraction to the opposite sex or sexual appeal while Love is comforting & an emotional part that you'll two share & bind to. Lust can be felt when your main intention is sexual pleasure, you don't feel any emotional contact or closeness between you'll, all that matters is how HOT she looks, etc. Lust in my terms is thinking with your johnson(slang for penis) & Love is that beautiful thing that joins you'll both in union for the affection you'll share for each other, its the respect you have for her, the positive feelings that grow as she speaks, you find joy in the time you'll spend together, etc.
I can debate on this topic for hours together & yet arrive with different thoughts every time we speak. Speaking about myself, I'd prefer falling in Love but I guess this time its just going to have to be Lust as without Lust there isn't Love or rather my favorite Love Your Lust!!!
